I made reference to Giuseppe Arcimboldo’s fruit and vegetables portrait series. I am fascinated by his imagery of people. I began to make a series of self portrait by using various fruits and vegetables to form my own portrait. I can identify my own personalities in some of fruits and vegetables such as chili reminds me of my hot temper. With my face covered with these fruits and vegetables, I can feel a sense of security and empowerment, maybe because I have a small and thin physique.
